Well Spring Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts

Well Spring Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts was created to give a new lease of life to men and women willing to stop the use of drugs and start their lives all over again.

Trained counsellors carry out visitations of the various joints and hideouts of local drug addicts and speak to them about the benefits of living normal drug free lives.

Willing candidates are enrolled as full time residents at the Centre where they are fully rehabilitated and reintegrated into society, after undergoing vocational training designed to empower them and engage their minds to further ensure their permanent recovery.

House of Joy Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts

The House of Joy Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts was established to transform the lives of male drug addicts who have lost the purpose of their existence to the powerful and negative impact of hard drugs.

Armed with the determination of returning every male drug addict in the nation, to a state of productivity, counsellors go out to the streets to find these drug addicts, ministering the redemptive love of God and elaborating on the advantages of enrolling at the Centre.

The programme cycle includes an initial rehabilitation process, followed by vocational training aimed at skills acquisition and empowerment for the beneficiaries.

Virtuous Women Home

Overtime, Nigeria has become a major exporter of women for prostitution, accounting for at least 60% of the prostitutes in some parts of Western and Central Europe.

About 50,000 girls aged between 9 and 17 are being trafficked for sexual exploitation in brothels within and across Nigeria. Its ripple effect which includes high exposure to STD’s, high risk of infertility and unwanted pregnancies, has lured a lot of women

into indulging in drug abuse, alcoholism, abortion or even suicide.

Our concern for the increased rate at which women have become involved in prostitution, led to the set-up of the Virtuous Women home. A rehabilitation centre whose main aim is to help restore the lives, dignity and respect of women entrapped in this trade.

Our approach has been to meet the sex workers at their various work locations, minister to them and then invite them to enrol at the rehabilitation centre for free, where they receive mentoring, counselling, motivation and vocational skills to help them to start life anew.

Hephzibah Orphanage Home

In line with Excel Charity Foundation’s commitment to releasing the God-given potentials of orphans and vulnerable children, the Hephzibah Orphanage Home, in partnership with the Lagos State Government, was established to take as many of these helpless children off the streets as possible.

The home provides their physical, spiritual, emotional and educational needs.

During their stay at the orphanage, children with no living relatives may be adopted by foster parents who have passed through adequate State’s scrutiny and approval.

Wellbeing Initiative

…giving a helping hand

Everyone needs someone to lean on at one time or the other regardless of one’s societal status. We set up the wellbeing initiative to help people who are particularly in dire need of help by providing basic food and clothing.

A Can Can Make a Difference (ACCMAD)

15 million People reached in the last ten years with about 13.1% of the over 7 billion world population going to bed hungry (a ratio of 1 in every 7 people), hunger is gradually becoming a concern for world leaders. Nearly about one in four people across the world live on less than $1 per day (including Nigerians); hence, international organizations and developed nations are striving to meet up with the United Nation’s millennium development goal (MDG)to half the proportion of people afflicted by hunger by 2015.

However, meeting that target by 2015 seems farfetched with global hunger steadily on the increase from 2009 till date.

ACCMAD was launched a decade ago to help feed the poor and hungry nationwide. To date, over half a billion Naira has been expended as the programme currently carries out the remarkable feat of feeding over 1.5 million people yearly across Nigeria. Donations made to the foundation by generous individuals have helped in facilitating the project as we have successfully carried out the campaign on the streets, in prisons, remand homes, events and even in places of worship

It’s New 2 Me Charity Shop

Established in 2008 with the sole aim of touching the lives of the less privileged and others in the society, the It’s New To Me Charity Shop has effectively helped to put smiles on the faces of its beneficiaries through the selling of good quality clothing, foot wear, household items and other necessities at unbelievably cheap prices.

The charity shop gets its sales items from the generous donations of the prized belongings by cheerful givers. These items are then sold to end users who ordinarily would be unable to afford them due to their high costs. Simultaneously, the proceeds from the charity shop are redirected towards helping the less privileged in various areas, including Education, Health care, and other areas.

Healing Stripes Cancer Screening Centre

The Healing Stripes Cancer Centre was established to reverse the trend caused by the hazards of prostrate, cervical and breast cancer in Nigeria, by providing both free and subsidized screening, thereby bringing about a major drop in the high number of people that could possibly suffer from the disease.

Since inception, the Centre has provided screening services to over 4,000 patients through partnering with organizations such as the BRF (Babatunde Raji Fashola) Foundation. Its sensitization programs include creating awareness of the need for early detection, thereby reducing the suffering and death of patients and the grief and economic burden felt by their families.

Education Initiative

… enhancing quality education

Even though primary education in Nigeria is fast improving, factors like lack of basic infrastructures, over-population of pupils in classes and dearth of quality teachers has had a very poor effect on the quality of graduates being massively produced in the country over the years. Determined to help salvage the situation, the Excel Education Project was designed to help address low literacy skills of pupils in public primary schools.

Experts say catching them young with quality education remains a veritable tool to lifelong development and this fact is what we also advocates for.

The project aims to achieve massive improvements in literary skills of the pupils such as reading, writing and oratory skills as well as to help build the capacity of the teachers using specialized curriculum to teach phonics and grammar.

In partnership with the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, the Excel Education Project operates as an extra-curricular club, where 40 primary one and two pupils, from 40 target public primary schools in Lagos state meets for an hour every week, for phonics and grammar classes, run by trained teachers.
